Don't Stop Asking.... and Answering...

~ Posted on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 7:02 AM ~

As much as I get tired of answering our kiddos' (especially our 5 years old boy) never-ending questions, whenever possible, I will also ask them on certain things. Sometimes I'm surprised with what our kiddo knows. Their mind is innocent and pure, even if they do not know the answer, it is nice knowing what goes on in their mind and how they perceive the world around them.

Sometimes, I explain to our boy even when he has not ask me anything yet. I feel we should not just wait for them to ask. Sometimes he might not know what to ask so I think it is good to be explaining to him so that he too can learn something new.

For example, while watching the Wall-E show, our boy asked me 'What does Wall-E do? What is his job?' and after explaining what Wall-E does, I continued explaining why there are no other robots around, why Wall-E compressed the rubbish into cute little cubes and so on. A question from our boy on why there is only Wall-E on earth will lead me to explain why, what is pollution (surprised me when our boy told me 'dirty things' when I asked him what is the meaning of pollution), why plants and trees are important to us (oxygen!) and so on.

So parents, don't let your kiddo stop asking, and as for us, don't stop answering. As tiring as it is, cherish moments like this when your kiddo still wants to listen to you, when they still look up to you and trust you wholeheartedly and that you are always there ready to support them.

Birthday Party Packs

~ Posted on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 7:17 AM ~

We just celebrated Benjamin's 5th birthday last week and this is the first time I prepared his birthday party packs for his classmates. I was already fussing over what to put in the party packs as I definitely do not want it to contain junk foods (well, trying not to). Few days before his birthday, I managed to buy some items which I think were suitable and here they are:

I printed and pasted a small note in each party packs thanking his classmates for celebrating his special day with us...

Picture below of the preparation process and one of the party packs...

What's inside? 2 mini maze activity worksheet, a color pen, an eraser, some mini stickers and a packet of chocolate wafer (Meiji brand - I got from a Groupon deal)

Beautiful Dresses

~ Posted on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 1:53 AM ~

Oscar is coming soon! The Academy Awards, commonly known as The Oscars, is an annual American awards ceremony honoring achievements in the film industry. This year will be the 86th Academy Awards which will be held on March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

I don't really watch it from beginning to the end, heck, most of the times I just browse through the beautiful dresses worn by the celebrities from the Internet, magazines and about everything I came across with a day or two after the actual event. It is just amazing to see the amount of effort put into each and every beautiful dress worn by the female celebrities especially, not to forget the brands and designers made dresses.

Maybe it is just me but I think that those beautiful dresses look a lot like the prom dressed I see on TV shows or websites. Of course, please don't just take my word for it and agree completely especially since I never have the opportunity to wear a prom dress in my life but browsing through the many designs of prom dresses on the Internet, they look so gorgeous that I think all those pretty celebrities should try and wear them to the Oscar!

I mean, if I do ever have a chance to attend a glamourous function like this, I'd definitely choose this design I got from the JenJenHouse website shown below:

As always, I would go for a floor length dress (like a princess of course!) but colorwise, I'll stick to the elegant and yet chic theme like the above picture. I mean, black and white is easy to pair and you won't go wrong with this color theme!

Mind sharing what is your glamourous dress style?
