Veni, Vidi, Vici!

Oh yes! We came, we saw and we conquered! Okay, maybe that's a bit too dramatic and over the top but that's what we felt after we had a short weekend family trip to the north (6 to 8 May 2011). Here are some of the memorable shots taken during our family trip (which was meant to be an eat-all-the-way-to-and-fro trip for me while my bump is still not that heavy and making me too tired to walk far... hehehe..)

On the first day, we stopped by for brunch at Ipoh's Foh San Dimsum restaurant which was recommended by a friend of mine (thanks again Catheryn!). The food is good and the atmosphere is nice too! Picture below taken of Ben praying before he walloped the mango pudding. Not that the pudding is deathly, just that Ben always prays before he eats ;)

I think we took about 4 hours plus to reach Penang, our holiday destination. Picture below of Ben helping us to unpack when we checked into our hotel room...

One of Ben's favorite activities in our hotel room, playing hide and seek at the curtains...

We rest for a while before realising Ben ain't going to nap so we head out to Penang's Youth Park. Look at Ben enjoying the swing at Penang's Youth Park...

We also went to the Feringgi Beach to check out the beach there... Love the shot taken below of the sparkling sea and hubby and Ben enjoying their stroll along the Feringgi Beach.

For our dinner, we went to the hawker stalls along Gurney Drive. Not much pictures taken as I left my trusted camera in the car (way to go to my preggy brain!)

For day 2, Ben woke up all excited and wanted to go to the pool (we can clearly see the pool from our balcony). Picture below of Ben with his out-of-bed hairdo. Awesome eh?

We had our breakfast at the hotel (complimentary with our hotel stay) before we head out to Penang Hill. Waited for a few minutes for our train to come down, check out Ben's bored look below hehehe...

After the breathtaking view from Penang Hill, we went for our chicken rice lunch. Yum yums! And then we proceeded to the Toy Museum. Ben was so excited seeing his favorite toys such as Wall-E, Ironman, Transformers (particularly Optimus Prime and BumbleBee) and Sesame Streets.

It was near evening time when we head back to our hotel. We then got ready the stuff and head to the pool. I didn't join along as my swimsuit is getting a wee bit tight for my expanding Spicy Baby... Ben enjoyed himself at the kiddy pool, watched over by daddy just next to him...

And then we managed to persuade Ben to go to the beach which was just in front of our hotel. Well, Ben was too engrossed with the pool earlier. Again, I got myself a beach chair and settled down and relax while watching the 2 men in my life build some awesome looking castles...

Can't resist taking this shot below. The sun was setting, daddy and Ben still engrossed with building their castles and I was still relaxing on my comfy beach chair... hehehe... I could get used to this kind of living... *wink*wink*

And then this couple of tourists (I think Arabs) stopped by and posed with Ben. Before them, an Arab couple stopped by as well to take pictures of Ben and patted his chin saying some Arabish words which I clearly don't understand...

Carried Ben back to my beach chair and put him on the empty chair next to mine. And snapped this shot of him chillaxing... cute!

Snapped this shot while I was walking with Ben towards daddy who is still building his sand castle...

We went back to our hotel room after that, showered and got ready to go out for our dinner and we went to the night market/bazaar along Feringgi Beach as well. By the time we reached our hotel, it was 11pm plus and Ben fell asleep soon after.

On the 3rd day, we had breakfast at the hotel again. Ben started fussing and wanted to play in the kiddy pool again. Daddy took Ben to the beach and had a stroll while waiting for me to finish my breakfast.

We played on the beach for a while before Ben had his fun time in the pool. After a while, we got ready and head back to our room. We managed a brief nap before we left the hotel and head back home.

All in all, it was an enjoyable trip, one that I'm going to remember for a long long time (as it's going to be sometime before we have our next family trip as Spicy Baby comes along in a few months time)

I'd like to thank my hubby for driving all the way to and fro, taking care of Ben and carrying him most of the time. I really appreciate the effort and thoughts into making this a memorable trip for me.

Travel MUST Have Items!

~ Posted on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 8:47 AM ~

Whenever we go out in hubby's car, Ben will immediately said out which items he wanted to hold while sitting in his car seat. The following are our MUST have items for Ben whenever we go out in hubby's car:

He started with 2 mini toy cars. The red colored sporty one always on his right hand, while the yellow antique looking car always on his left hand.

Travel MUST Have Items!

And then Ben added a new travel MUST have, which is a sunglasses, all thanks to hubby. He always wore this travel sunglasses over his spectacles whenever it's too bright outside during driving and Ben always ask for daddy's spectacles whenever he saw daddy wearing it. Hubby got so frustrated as there are lots of times he had to suffer the bright and glaring sunlight while his son sits happily enjoying daddy's sunglasses. So we got Ben this green colored sunglasses which he wears when he's in the car.

Travel MUST Have Items!

Now we have another item added into the list, which is this small pillow which we always put on Ben's lap. Aside from the above items, Ben also occassionally wears this cap (used to be daddy's)

Travel MUST Have Items!

So what about your child? What are his/her travel MUST have items?

Ben's Daily Activities...

~ Posted on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 5:20 PM ~

Wondering what my 2 year old does every single day when we're at home?

Following are pictures taken on what Ben does on daily basis, although of course not all on the same day! There are some days when I'm too tired to be doing drawing and coloring activities with him or some days when I could even play in the water pool with him... but nevertheless, pictures below  (in no particular order) for you to enjoy and have a brief glimpse on what my boy does on daily basis...

Color painting at our balcony (click on the link for more pictures!)

(oh well, basically Ben just holds the brushes, wet it with water and color on the pages)

Playing in his water pool at our balcony... (click on the link for more pictures!)

Ben has lately developed a new hobby to 'cook' and 'boil' food and drinks for himself and me!

Jamming with his guitar...

Normally with John Mayer songs or when he hears Rascal Flatt's 'Life is a Highway' (one of the soundtrack in Cars movie)

His new activity which is playing with daddy's DIY playmat! (click on the link for more pictures!)

Scribbling on his art book... (click on the link for more pictures!)

Every now and then, I teach him to draw certain shapes and at the same time teach him about colors...

Chasing him around the room to bath him - normally after his water pool time...

Stickers time! My balcony door is taking the biggest hit now... but it's OK, it's Ben's 'artwork' heheheh...

We currently have 2 sticker books which I bought from the night market near my house - Toy Story and Cars, both are Ben's favorites!

I just started playing this fruit toys today with Ben. Trying to get him to familiar with the types of fruits and also the colors of it as well.

He kept sniffing (we always get him to sniff the real ones when we go grocery shopping) and biting the toys!

Reading his books... (click on the link for more pictures!)

Ever since Ben saw how his 2nd uncle fixes car (he's a mechanic), Ben is always trying to emulate the same thing.

Watching Sesame Street videos on Youtube...

Picture below of Ben holding this DIY 'binocular' I made out of an empty toilet roll which I cut half and masking tape all over to make the 'binoculars'

Watching and dancing along to bible action songs... (click on the link for more pictures!)

Other than the above, Ben also occassionally play with his Mega Bloks though definitely not with me nowadays, I really can't bear to scoop out each and every blocks and put them back into the storage box, though yes, everytime Ben plays them with his daddy, I end up most of the time cleaning up the mess afterwards... but oh well, at least I don't need to crack my head to build a sword, a jeep, a tractor, a robot and etc etc from those Mega Bloks! You can see more pictures from this post of mine: Ben the Engineer?

Of course, with all the above activities, Ben has to eat to keep up at all times! So pictures below are those I managed to take of him eating during lunch and snack times... and he watches his favorite movies such as Cars and Toy Story (1, 2 & 3) during his meal times. I had to watch them with him so much that I can tell you the errors and mistakes I discovered in those movies! So anyway, pictures time!

Ben munching on a VERY sour strawberry, and not even batting an eye over it! Weird...

Other than strawberry, I normally feed Ben grapes or mangoes we get them more often during our grocery shopping.

Ben breastfeeding - this photo is taken very recently, about a few days back,

and yes, I'm still breastfeeding him during my pregnancy now.

Ben munching on his 2nd slice of cheese, other than the fish crackers and a piece of banana on his plate.

Ben drinking his yogurt drink while having his lunch of a slice of bread, a cracker, some jelly and mangoes slices.

So there you go... pictures above are what Ben does during his daytime activities most of the days...

What about your child? What did they do on daily basis?
