Nursing Job?

~ Posted on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 8:08 AM ~

There was a time when I wanted to be a nurse. I was previously taking care of my ailing parents and after they passed away (dad in April 2006, mum in January 2007), I wanted to be a nurse to help others (though I can't do anything for my parents) but I don't know how to get started.

Like what sort of qualifications or certifications do I need? Where do I apply to learn this? Now I have no problems with handling the poop, piss, blood etc. Wiping and cleaning are fine with me. Washing is fine too.

It is nice to read how there are so many options available overseas for nursing field. Heck, they even something called a travel nurse! According to this website, a Traveling nurse is a nurse who is hired to work in a specific location for a limited amount of time and move around the country depending on where they are needed to fulfil their assignments. Now, that's a job with flexibility to move around, meet new people and work in a new environment every now and then!

Back to myself... I'm grateful for my experience in taking care of my parents as it helps prepared me as I entered parenthood in 2009.

But the thought of starting a new job in a new field at my age and wasting my almost a decade old of IT experience? Plus, there aren't many nursing schools or colleges around during that time, so it ended up being just a thought on my mind...

Classy Sunglasses

~ Posted on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 6:03 PM ~

I started wearing glasses when I was 12 years old and coming from a lower class income family, we could not afford to get expensive or branded glasses. As long as it serves the purposes of making me see clearly and cost cheap, then it is good enough. Back then, there's no such thing as buying glasses according to your face frame and so on.

And then when I started working and could afford better glasses, I did get myself one of those UV protection glasses since I work in the IT line, but I am still skeptical and hesitant with getting sunglasses. I mean,  to me, sunglasses is a nice to have accessories, not a necessity. Back then it's either you get a clip-on sunglasses (which I did once) or get a separate sunglasses with prescription (which I never did) and that is expensive (for me).

Until now, I've never own a sunglasses in my life (except for that clip-on one that I mentioned) though I am curious and often throw the occasional glances of curiosity towards those designer sunglasses on display in the optical eyewear shops.

Nowadays, there are so many types of sunglasses available. Just when I thought that it's not easy to shop for a sunglasses online, I came across http://www.glasses.com, a website that sells many types of sunglasses, lenses and heck, the coolest thing is they even have this virtual try-on widget on their website which allows you to 'try' their product virtually. You just need to upload a photo of yours and go on a frenzy try-outs!

What do you think?

So what are your thoughts on sunglasses and will you buy them online?

Desserts Are Meaningless When We're Eating Out...

~ Posted on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 8:48 AM ~

The moment your child started eating meals like you, desserts become meaningless when you eat out as a family.

You know why???

The moment you ordered something that comes with complimentery desserts, your child will kidnap your desserts and claimed it as theirs.

Hey mummy! This one has got my name on it!

And despite attempts to get their attention off the desserts, they shot you pitiful looks that you just can't ignore.

But mummy, the mango pudding is calling me!!!!

Leaving you fuming because you barely get to admire the beauty of the desserts that is supposed to be yours and then they bug you to feed them THEIR desserts.

More! More!

So, moral of the story is:

Make sure your hubby's meal comes with desserts so that you can kidnap his!

Me: Dear, this tiramisu has my name on it!!!!!
