What a cute app in time for Christmas celebration which is right around the corner! The moment I started using this app, I selected pictures of my family (hubby, myself, Ben and Alyson) and once I'm done (very fast process too!) I showed it to Ben and we went through the app together.

You should've seen the look on his face when he saw his own face appearing on the app cover and then our faces on the characters in the app!

Ben's face on the app cover! Cute!!

He was smiling and saying out our names as he saw our faces popping out on the app! Cute!

My little Alyson's face appearing as Santa's reindeer!

What's good?

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen!

* I like how the pictures we selected appears randomly as the story goes along and got repeated again and again and again!

* The process to upload our pictures into the app is very user friendly and easy to go through.

* I am also amazed at the cool features of the app when I upload our pictures, I can so easily select, enlarge or reduce the size and even rotate the pictures!

Room for Improvement?

* I think it will be totally awesome if there is a function which allows us to EMAIL out the pictures! That will totally make a cute e-card for Christmas!

* I like the way the authors compares life using Swiss Cheese (kinda makes you think and goes 'Ohhhh... I see....' when you read each chapter).

* Each chapter in the book are interesting to read and I love the illustrations in the book as well.

* I love how the authors uses W.A.I.T to represent the points for What Am I Thinking in page 86.

* I also love page 132 on the statement of "Opportunity is NOWHERE" - it depends on how you look at things, whether "Opportunity is Nowhere" or "Opportunity is Now Here!". Awesome!

* I love the lesson taught on page 224 about the ability to forgive others.

In summary, it is a book that shows you how to get through the holes in your life and how to overcome the obstacles and turned out to be a better person.

Nursing Job?

~ Posted on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 8:08 AM ~

There was a time when I wanted to be a nurse. I was previously taking care of my ailing parents and after they passed away (dad in April 2006, mum in January 2007), I wanted to be a nurse to help others (though I can't do anything for my parents) but I don't know how to get started.

Like what sort of qualifications or certifications do I need? Where do I apply to learn this? Now I have no problems with handling the poop, piss, blood etc. Wiping and cleaning are fine with me. Washing is fine too.

It is nice to read how there are so many options available overseas for nursing field. Heck, they even something called a travel nurse! According to this website, a Traveling nurse is a nurse who is hired to work in a specific location for a limited amount of time and move around the country depending on where they are needed to fulfil their assignments. Now, that's a job with flexibility to move around, meet new people and work in a new environment every now and then!

Back to myself... I'm grateful for my experience in taking care of my parents as it helps prepared me as I entered parenthood in 2009.

But the thought of starting a new job in a new field at my age and wasting my almost a decade old of IT experience? Plus, there aren't many nursing schools or colleges around during that time, so it ended up being just a thought on my mind...
