iPad App Review - What a Bad Dream

~ Posted on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 7:27 AM ~

I mentioned before that we are big fans of "Little Critter" apps and the latest app we reviewed is the "Just Me and My Puppy". To be honest, I have been very interested to find out whether children dream and remembered what they dreamed of, so I have been asking my almost 4 years old boy whether he had any dream and whether he remembered them once in a while. Just curious you know... Anyway, the moment I saw the words "Little Critter" and "Dream" in the latest Oceanhouse Media's press release in my email inbox, I immediately requested for a review copy. Anyway, my review as below...

* Title: What a Bad Dream
* Price: $0.99
* Category: Books
* Released: Feb 20, 2013
* Version: 2.1
* Size: 38.6 MB
* Language: English
* Seller: Oceanhouse Media, Inc.
* Rated: 4+
* Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Description from the product page:

"Little Critter dreams that a magic potion turns him into a scary, disagreeable monster that no one wants to be around. In his dream, he does whatever he wants. He has cookies and ice cream for breakfast, doesn't brush his fur or fangs, never changes his clothes or takes a bath, skips school and stays up late watching TV. When Little Critter is sleepy and ready for bed, there's no one there to tuck him in and read him a story. Luckily for Little Critter, it's all just a bad dream. Young children will relate to the sweet and funny ending!"

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I like the storyline where it tells how Little Critter dreamed he turned into a monster and he gets to do whatever he wanted and without caring for other's feelings and how it turned out in the end when he woke up from his dream.

* I used the opportunity in this app to gently explained to my almost 4 years old boy that although he may dream of nasty scary things, he must always remember that it is not real and daddy and mummy will always be there to protect and watch out for him.

iPad App Review - Just Me and My Puppy

I mentioned before that we are big fans of "Little Critter" apps and the last app we reviewed is the "Just Shopping with Mom". The moment I saw the words "Little Critter" and "Puppy" in the latest Oceanhouse Media's press release in my email inbox, I immediately requested for a review copy. Anyway, my review as below...

* Title: Just Me and My Puppy
* Price: $0.99
* Category: Books
* Released: Feb 20, 2013
* Version: 2.1
* Size: 29.5 MB
* Language: English
* Seller: Oceanhouse Media, Inc.
* Rated: 4+
* Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Description from the product page:

"Little Critter has brought home an adorable puppy. His parents agree to let him keep it as long as he takes care of it himself. Little Critter is proud of the job he's doing, happily feeding, walking, training and loving his new friend. The funny illustrations, however, show that the puppy is a lot of work and quite a handful! Nonetheless, in Little Critter eyes it's all worth it!"

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I like the storyline where it tells how Little Critter get a puppy and being responsible in taking care and teaching the puppy tricks and manners.

* My almost 4 years old boy has been lately bugging us about getting a dog (no, we are definitely not getting any dog) so I thought this app would be a good opportunity to teach him the responsibilities that entail with getting and raising a dog.

(** Article first published as Book Review: Taking Your Life To The Next Level: 7 Keys To Living The God Kind of Life by on Blogcritics.)

I received an email for request to review this Christian book and after checking out the positive reviews for the book, I decided to proceed on.

Title: Taking Your Life to the Next Level: 7 Keys to Living the God Kind of Life
Author: Jimi Akanbi

Publisher: Jimi Akanbi; 1 edition (January 18, 2013)
ASIN:
B00B32EZ28
Paperback:  69 pages
File Size:  186 KB

Description from the product page:
"Are you satisfied with your lifestyle? Can you achieve and maintain your God-given destiny? Is it possible to receive prosperity from God’s perspective? You may be thinking; how do I take my life to the next level? Prosperity in God’s kingdom includes; peace, wealth, health, honor, faith, favor, love, and more. There is no limit to the measure of prosperity that you can encounter in life. The more knowledge you have about God, coupled with wisdom, the more prosperity you will receive. Understanding and performing the steps outlined in this book (Taking Your Life to The Next Level), will help you accomplish this."

I'm a full-time mummyI can't help but to agree with the statement on page 3 that "This book will help you understand destiny from God’s perspective and the do’s and don’ts in order to walk in it."

One of my regular prayers I prayed for my children before I sleep is for my children to grow up to be a God-fearing and God-loving child, one that walks according His ways and be an example of how a Christian should be. I do want to see that in my children as I am partly responsible (besides my husband who works hard for our family) in raising them up and would definitely want them to live their destiny according to God's way.

I do agree with the author on his statement in page 3 as well "God will not give you a destiny which will make you struggle and miserable." as one of my pastors used to tell us 'God's will, God's bill', if He can bring you TO it, He will surely bring you THROUGH it.

I also love the example given by the author on how we touch God's heart when we thanked Him. I too agree that we should be thankful regardless of the good or bad things that happened in our life. I started a few weeks ago to teach my boy to give thanks to God before we sleep and there are few times when my almost 4 years old boy reminded me that we should pray and say thank you God. I taught him to say his thanks for what happened that day, to tell God whether we are sick or have any pains and to pray to God for His protections over us.

In summary, this is a wonderful book that reinforces my beliefs in how we should live our life according to His ways.
