Seeing Through The Eyes Of Our Children...

~ Posted on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 6:04 AM ~

Just the other day, I was rushing some invoicing work for my hubby and let my 3.5 years old boy played with his Lego blocks by himself. My 13 months old girl was napping at that time. Then my boy called me to check out his star Lego. I walked over and stood and can't see it. Had to stand for a while until I saw it.

Yup... that's a star alright!

Amazing right what our child can see in their own eyes and understanding? And few days later, he was playing with the bead shapes/blocks and told me he made a turtle. To be honest, it took me a few minutes before I am able to see it!

Awesome or what?! I am just so freaking proud with what my boy did! So so so amazing!

So, yeah, what I'm trying to say in this post is,

Learn to see through your child's eyes!

Do not underestimate their imagination and creativity.

Never look down or brush away their discoveries!

Just my 2 cents... That's all the updates I can share for now, feel free to ask and share if you have feedback!

This is so amazing! Very creative! Now I can see why as an art idiot, when i made something with play dough or cut sandwiches into shapes or drew something for my 19 month old daughter and tell her what it was, when it clearly didn't resemblance whatever I said it is (eg dog, koala etc), or anything at all, she somehow really think it was what i said it was! Maybe she was using her own imagination? Ok, I'm far fetching it, trying to make myself feel better :p
this post really got my husband and I thinking, maybe she has been creating things with fridge magnets, her books, toys, play dough and doodling, but all the while, we've just been missing it? Thank you for this post, from now on,  we'll be keeping our eyes and minds opened when looking at her creations instead of plainly disregarding them

Thank you Rima, Kitty & prince n princess mum!

Hi Jessica,
Yeah, quite a number of people commented my boy being too big / tall for his age. Probably got it from his grandfathers (both my dad and my FIL were very tall!)

Hi Zoe!
Yes, yes, learn to see and appreciate through the eyes of our children! Thanks for your comment! Hope to see you back here sometimes!
